Strawberry Festival to Award Scholarship

The California Strawberry Festival is establishing a $25,000 endowment scholarship at Cal State Channel Islands for Ventura County students who either work in a strawberry-related industry or whose parents do.
The festival scholarship will be awarded each year.
Don DeArmond, chairman of the annual event, said the festival wanted to contribute in some way to the new college.
