Comcast Boosts Forecast for Digital-TV Customers

Comcast Corp., which made a bid for AT&T; Corp.’s rival cable business, raised its forecast for digital-TV subscribers for the second time this year, saying it will have 4.5% more than expected by the end of 2001.
The third-biggest U.S. cable company expects to serve 2.3 million homes with digital cable by year’s end, Comcast President Brian Roberts said at a Goldman, Sachs & Co. investor conference in New York. Comcast previously expected 2.2 million customers.
