Mission Viejo Teen Dies, Two Injured in Crash

A Mission Viejo teenager died early Sunday following a traffic accident on Ortega Highway. A California Highway Patrol dispatcher said the 17-year-old boy and two others were injured at 1:19 a.m. on Ortega Highway near La Pata Road.
Details of the accident were sketchy, but the dispatcher said it involved a pickup truck. The teenager was taken to a Mission Viejo hospital, where he died about three hours later. The injuries suffered by the other two victims were not considered life-threatening.
