U.S. Seeks Information on Northrop’s TRW Bid
Northrop Grumman Corp., the fourth-largest U.S. defense contractor, said antitrust regulators requested more information on the company’s $11.4-billion unsolicited bid for TRW Inc.
The Justice Department’s request usually signals that the agency’s antitrust division is giving the offer closer scrutiny.
Northrop said that it would reply with the expected request and that it didn’t anticipate any significant antitrust issues.
On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Los Angeles-based Northrop rose $1.23 to $118.88. TRW fell 12 cents to $51.48, also on the NYSE.
