Little League Coach Charged in Molestations
A Little League coach was arrested Thursday on charges that he molested at least two players. Ricky Lynn Vaughn, who has been a volunteer coach in Stanton and Anaheim for nearly 20 years, was arrested at his Santa Ana home.
A 12-year-old boy came forward last month with a complaint and another player followed two weeks ago, authorities said.
Vaughn was charged with three counts of child molestation. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
“There are at least two victims. That is all I can say right now,” said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The Western Region Headquarters for Little League Baseball Inc. was unaware of the charges. Amormino said all the league’s games were canceled Thursday.
Amormino said anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at (714) 288-6740 or (714) 647-7419.
