Florida Atlantic (4-7) at UC Irvine (5-3), 7:30, KUCI (88.9) -- The Anteaters can wrap up their nonconference portion of their schedule in fine fashion with a victory tonight. Since opening the season with losses to Oklahoma and Western Michigan, Irvine has won five of six. Six players reached double figures in Saturday night’s win over Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne, including center Adam Parada and forward Stanislav Zuzak. Both veterans have been inconsistent. Coach Pat Douglass has changed his starting lineup often but said he likes going with Jeff Gloger and Mike Efevberha at guard, Jordan Harris and Matt Okoro at forward and Greg Ethington at center. The Owls made the NCAA tournament last season but have found the going rough at the start. Florida Atlantic is finishing a two-game West Coast swing after losing at San Diego State on Saturday.

Portland (5-5) at Long Beach State (1-7), 7:30 -- The 49ers haven’t played a game in 10 days, which may be the best news for a team that has lost six in a row. The 49ers continue to struggle adapting to the motion offense employed by first-year Coach Larry Reynolds. They’ve shot under 40% in each of the last four games. Junior Marcel Jackson is expected to get another start at center while senior Vance Lawhorn nurses a groin pull. Freshman 7-foot center Alex Graham has seen extended minutes lately. Portland, which defeated Northern Arizona on a layup by Adam Quick in the final seconds, has been streaky this season. The Pilots won their first three, then lost their next five until rebounding with two consecutive wins.
