Marine Who Died in Copter Crash Eulogized
More than 600 family members, friends and soldiers gathered in Mardela Springs to pay their respects to Staff Sgt. Walter F. Cohee III, who was killed with another Marine in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
Cohee, who grew up in this community of 360, was buried in a cemetery with full military honors after a funeral service at the Mardela Springs Fire Company, where he had worked as a volunteer.
The funeral marked seven days since Cohee’s family received word that he and another Marine were killed when their helicopter crashed in mountainous terrain while on a resupply mission outside Kabul.
