Maybe Dodgers Need Some Revenue Sharing
Regarding Bill Plaschke’s July 7 column:
As a longtime Dodger fan, I don’t love it that Dave Roberts, Cesar Izturis, Eric Gagne (and this year Paul Lo Duca) make minimal salaries. It’s unfair.
I would like to suggest to Kevin Brown, Darren Dreifort and whoever else is collecting money and not playing, take a page from Ted Williams’ book. He insisted on a 30% pay cut when he had a bad year. I think Kevin and Darren would show a lot of class if they each asked the Dodgers to pay them a million or two less for this year, with the condition that it be instead added to the productive players’ salaries.
