Weekend Box Office

In what could be considered a prelude to this summer’s effects-driven sci-fi movies, “The Time Machine” performed well, grossing $22.6 million to capture the No. 1 spot in the weekend box office. It also marked the first time since last May, when “Shrek” opened with $42.4 million, that a DreamWorks movie has debuted in first place. “All About the Benjamins” grossed $10 million to open in third place.
