Man Walking on Tracks Is Killed by Freight Train

A man was killed Thursday when he was struck by a freight train as he walked along the tracks near Dale Street.
The man, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was struck at 5:20 p.m. as a Metrolink train passed him going the opposite direction. The noise from the Metrolink apparently prevented him from hearing the Santa Fe freight train approaching behind him, Buena Park Police Lt. Ken Coovert said.
