Millionaire to Try Again on World Balloon Flight
Millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett announced in St. Louis he will try again next month to make the first solo round-the-world balloon flight. It will be his sixth attempt since 1996.
Anheuser-Busch Cos. will sponsor the flight in the Bud Light Spirit of Freedom balloon, which will take off in about a month, depending on the weather, from Australia.
Fossett’s most recent attempt ended last year, when bad weather forced him to land in Brazil. Still, at 12 days, it was the longest solo balloon flight on record.
Fossett holds world records connected to balloons, sailboats and airplanes.
