Bicyclist Dies After Riding Into Truck’s Path

An elderly bicyclist was killed Monday after he rode into the path of a truck turning onto Harbor Boulevard from Wilson Street, police said.
The name of the bicyclist was not released pending notification of relatives. The driver was identified as Johnny Cuesta, 31, of Bakersfield.
Witnesses said the bicyclist, who was in his 70s, rode into the truck’s path about 11:20 a.m.
Cuesta was not cited, police said. The accident is under investigation.
