City Council Drops Opposition to Complex

Acting at the direction of a judge, the Los Angeles City Council reversed course and gave initial approval Wednesday to construction of a 706-unit condominium complex on the site of the Lincoln Place apartments.
The project, which involves the demolition of 795 apartments at Lake and Frederick streets, will also include the construction of a 144-unit apartment project for low-income residents.
