First Suspect Charged in Fatal Bali Bombings
From Times Wire Reports
Indonesian prosecutors formally charged their first suspect in October’s terror bombings that killed 202 people, mostly foreign tourists, on the resort island of Bali. The suspect, known by the single name Amrozi, allegedly belongs to Jemaah Islamiyah, a terror group blamed for the bombings at two nightclubs.
Amrozi faces terrorism charges that could carry the death penalty, a prosecution spokesman said. Police claim he bought the explosives used in the attack and drove the van that blew up outside one club.
