Police Arrest Suspect in 14 Bank Holdups
From Times Wire Reports
Police believe they struck a blow against a rash of daylight bank robberies by arresting a man suspected in 14 holdups in the last two months. Bryant Brown, 37, is suspected of robbing banks from Lower Manhattan to Harlem of about $41,000 by passing a note demanding money, said police, who made the arrest in Brooklyn after receiving a tip.
New York City holdups have tripled this year, with 170 bank robberies reported so far, compared with 57 in the same period last year.
