Judge Extends Bail in Spector Murder Case
A judge extended the bail Friday for murder suspect and record producer Phil Spector to Sept. 30 at the request of the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, authorities said.
Spector was released on $1-million bail Feb. 3, the same day he was arrested on suspicion of killing actress Lana Clarkson at his hilltop mansion in Alhambra. Bail was set to expire Friday, but with the investigation still incomplete prosecutors asked for the extension.
Authorities found Clarkson, 40, dead in the foyer of Spector’s home. She had been shot in the face, police said. The two had been seen leaving the House of Blues in West Hollywood together about 2:30 a.m., hours before she was shot.
