Remains May Be Missing 85-Year-Old
From Staff and Wire Reports
Skeletal remains found along a river may be those of an 85-year-old man who vanished in June after leaving for a morning walk, police said.
A man who was crawfishing Sunday in the Sweetwater River discovered the remains near the Plaza Bonita shopping center. Chula Vista Police Lt. Mike Becker said a tattered tan jacket was found with the skeleton.
Joseph Odenthal, who has been missing since June 11, was wearing a tan jacket when he left his home to go on a walk. The remains were found about a mile from Odenthal’s home.
