Growth of U.S. Drug Sales Slowed in 2002

U.S. prescription drug sales growth slowed last year as companies failed to introduce top-selling medicines to replace older products losing patent protection, an industry group said.
U.S. prescription medicine sales rose 12% to $192.2 billion last year, compared with 17% growth in 2001, IMS Health Inc. reported.
