Theatricum to feature ‘Lysistrata 2003’
“Lysistrata 2003,” a new adaptation of Aristophanes’ “Lysistrata” by Ellen Geer, will be the centerpiece of the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum’s 2003 season in Topanga, July 12-Oct. 18. It will feature original music by Tom Allard, Peter Alsop, Melora Marshall and Ellen Geer.
A reading of the not-quite-complete work will be presented Monday as part of an international antiwar protest. The reading will be at Topanga Elementary School, 141 Topanga Canyon Blvd., at 7:15 p.m.
Also on the Theatricum’s 2003 season: “King Lear” (June 8-Sept. 28), “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (June 14-Sept. 27) and “The Skin of Our Teeth” (Aug. 16-Oct. 19).
