Sergeant in Artillery Unit Is Killed in Iraq

A 27-year-old soldier from this city was killed when his artillery unit came under fire near Balad, Iraq, the Defense Department said. Army Sgt. Atanacio Haromarin, who died Tuesday, was based at Ft. Hood, Texas.
