Mix Pleads Not Guilty in Sex Case
From a Times Staff Writer
Charles William Mix, accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a 5-year-old Riverside girl this month, pleaded not guilty to 27 charges and special allegations Wednesday.
Mix denied all counts against him before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Ronald L. Taylor.
Prosecutors contend that Mix, 48, sexually assaulted the girl before driving her to Utah, where police apprehended him less than eight hours after the alleged abduction.
Mix, who is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail, is due back in court July 18.
