Classic Cars Go on the Block, Most Stay There

More than 100 cars and trucks, including a 1930 Duesenberg, were lined up for an auction of an estimated $200 million worth of vehicles and historic real estate in Gonzales.
Much of the property belonging to Baton Rouge real estate developer Bob Dean did not sell.
Nobody made it up to Dean’s $5.7 million minimum on the Hotel Bentley, built in 1908.
Bidding rose to $6 million for the 1927 Eola and to $650,000 for Ravennaside from the 1890s, but Dean rejected those bids.
Bidding for the 1930 Duesenberg went only to $600,000, which did not meet the reserve price; Dean reportedly turned down an earlier offer of $1 million.
