7 Die as Van Full of Lighters Burns

Seven people burned to death in northern Vietnam when a van loaded with smuggled cigarette lighters crashed and exploded, a police officer said. The dead included two tax collectors and a police officer who had climbed into the vehicle after stopping to search it in Lang Son province.
They were escorting the vehicle to a tax office when it crashed, said an officer who identified himself only as Lien.
