Man Gets 15 Years to Life for Killing Girl, 18
From Times Staff Reports
Man Duong, 54, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison Monday for strangling his girlfriend’s daughter, whose body he hid under a pile of clothes in her closet.
Noting that Duong showed little remorse over killing 18-year-old Linda Au of Lincoln Heights, Superior Court Judge Stephen Marcus said, “This murder is so terrible.... I sincerely hope the parole authorities do not consider giving you parole after 15 years.”
Au, an honor student and basketball player at Verdugo Hills High School, was found dead on April 14, 2002.
