‘Hitler’ no match for ‘Bachelor’
“The Bachelor” proved a bigger ratings attraction than the opening of CBS’ two-part miniseries “Hitler: The Rise of Evil,” based on preliminary Nielsen Media Research ratings issued Monday.
The ABC dating show added roughly 5 million viewers from the first to the last half-hour, averaging more than 15 million viewers over those two hours, as did back-to-back episodes of NBC’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” By contrast, “Hitler,” starring Robert Carlyle, saw its viewership decline slightly in the second hour but still averaged a respectable 13.6 million viewers.
Controversy surrounding “Hitler” led to the firing of one of its producers before the project aired. It concludes tonight, against competition that includes the season finales of “NYPD Blue” and “24.”
