Deputy Killed as Car Is Struck During Pursuit

Josh Lancaster, a 27-year-old sheriff’s deputy, was killed when his unmarked vehicle was broadsided by a car being pursued by Sanger police.
Lancaster was pulling away from a stop sign when his car was hit Wednesday night.
One of the passengers in the car being pursued, a 17-year-old girl, died from injuries at Fresno’s University Medical Center. The 18-year-old youth driving the car was in serious condition.
