Wizards Advance With 2-0 Victory

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Igor Simutenkov scored a goal in the first half and assisted on Chris Klein’s goal in the second, and the Kansas City Wizards defeated the Colorado Rapids, 2-0, Saturday night in front of 10,712 to reach the Western Conference final in the Major League Soccer playoffs.
The Wizards, who tied the Rapids on Tuesday, will play the winner of tonight’s other semifinal between the Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes. The Galaxy has a two-goal advantage in aggregate goals.
Simutenkov ended a scoreless tie in stoppage time at the end of the first half on a bicycle kick from the left of the Rapids’ six-yard box.
