NYSE Members Give Mandate for Reform
As expected, New York Stock Exchange members gave interim Chairman John S. Reed the mandate he asked for, voting about 150 to 1 in favor of his Big Board reform package and handily endorsing his eight nominees for a new NYSE board of directors.
With 1,136 NYSE seat holders voting out of 1,370 eligible, the reforms passed with 1,112 in favor, 7 opposed and 17 abstaining, according to certified results the NYSE announced Wednesday.
