Fresno State Finishes It Off
EL PASO — Paul Pinegar threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns and Brett Visintainer kicked a fourth-quarter field goal as Fresno State came back to beat Texas El Paso, 23-20, Saturday.
Fresno State, which improved to 8-5 overall and 6-2 in the Western Athletic Conference, trailed 20-10 but tied the score midway through the third quarter on Pinegar’s 37-yard touchdown pass to Marque Davis.
Visintainer made a 24-yard field goal with 9:37 left, and neither team threatened again.
Pinegar completed 22 of 31 passes with two interceptions.
Texas El Paso (2-11, 1-7) had only 252 yards on offense.
