6 Sites Possible for Regional Airport

San Diego’s airport agency has selected five military locations and the Imperial County desert for closer analysis as potential sites for a new regional airport, but said an expanded Lindbergh Field should also be considered.
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority on Thursday picked Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, East Miramar, Camp Pendleton, North Island Naval Air Station, March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County and the desert site to advance to the next phase of scrutiny.
