Weinstein’s a pal
DESPITE what “former company insiders” say about Harvey Weinstein’s famously contentious relationships with other Miramax directors (“The Deal, Vol. 1,” by Kim Masters, Oct. 8), my own experience with Harvey is unlike that of any other director, writer, actor or person I’ve worked with in Hollywood.
Our relationship remains now as it has always been: that of a mentor, a teacher and a treasured friend. I have made four films with Miramax in the past 10 years, and I hope to make 10 more in the next four. Without him at the helm of this company, there would be no Miramax, and I cannot imagine a filmmaking experience without him being a central part of it.
