Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Wife, Daughter
A Torrance-area man pleaded guilty Friday to murdering his wife and their 4-year-old daughter, whose bodies were found floating in Los Angeles Harbor three years ago.
Kazumi Taga avoided the possibility of the death penalty by changing his plea. He is expected to be sentenced Oct. 22 in Los Angeles County Superior Court to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
A diver cleaning boats discovered the bodies of Yuriko Taga, 38, and Michelle Taga, 4, strapped together in the murky waters on Sept. 7, 2000. Taga was arrested about a week later at his home near Torrance.
