Military Probes Marine Recruit’s Death

A 32-year-old Marine recruit died this week during training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.
Pvt. Alan L. Hernandez of Chicago apparently suffered cardiac arrest, Marine officials said.
Hernandez fell ill during combat training Wednesday. He was taken to UC San Diego’s trauma center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Marine officials said they were investigating the death.
