Rap stars come together

Three of rap’s biggest names come together on the first single from “Tupac: Resurrection,” the latest posthumous release from Tupac Shakur. Eminem has produced the track “Runnin’ (Dying to Live),” which includes verses by Shakur as well as one from a rival, the late Notorious B.I.G., a spokesman for Interscope Records said Monday.

The parenthetical part of the title acknowledges a sample Eminem used from blues-rocker Edgar Winter’s 1970 song “Dying to Live.”

The recording, which was sent to radio stations late last week and will not be issued as a retail single, is one of four new tracks on the album, which is the soundtrack for the documentary film of the same name. The collection also includes several of Shakur’s hits, most of them autobiographical. The album is scheduled for release Nov. 4; the film is due in theaters Nov. 14.
