West Nile virus has returned to Riverside County, with three brown cowbirds testing positive, according to public health officer Gary Feldman.

The state’s first report this season of the disease, which can harm humans and livestock, was in Orange County last month.

The public is asked to call 1-877-WNV-BIRD with information about any dead outdoor birds, which can be used to track the progress of the virus.
