Errant Shot Hits Range Master
From a Times Staff Writer
A range master at the Orange County Sheriff’s Training Facility was shot in the leg Thursday when a gun being unloaded by an instructor accidentally discharged, officials said.
The incident occurred about 12:15 p.m. at the shooting range on East Katella Avenue in Orange, said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the department.
The range master, who was not identified, was walking by when the weapon went off, Amormino said.
He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with non-life-threatening injuries.
