Suspect Pleads Not Guilty to Killing Officer
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The man accused of killing San Francisco Police Officer Isaac Espinoza has pleaded not guilty.
Bailiffs with black ribbons of mourning over their badges escorted suspect David Hill, 21, into the courtroom Wednesday.
He is charged with murder in Saturday’s shooting of Espinoza, 29, and attempted murder in the shooting of Officer Barry Parker.
Although the murder count carries an enhancement of special circumstances -- the killing of a police officer -- Dist. Atty. Kamala Harris said she would not seek the death penalty.
