Eminent Esquire Goes for Fifth Win in a Row
Eminent Esquire, unbeatable since being claimed by trainer Paul Jones, will try for his fifth consecutive win in tonight’s seventh race, a $12,850 allowance at 350 yards.
Owned by Jones in partnership with Oscar Ramirez, Eminent Esquire, an Idaho-bred gelding, hasn’t lost since March 12, when he was claimed for $3,200.
For Jones and Ramirez, Eminent Esquire has beaten $4,000 and $10,000 claimers, a starter allowance group and, in his first try against allowance company, won by 1 1/2 lengths June 25.
The son of Floyd De Great will break from post three in a field of seven and will be ridden by Ramon Sanchez.
The rest of the lineup includes Chicks First Policy, Apollo By Em, Dazzling Reflection and Cee A Dash.
