Re “Talk It Out on Iran Before It’s Too Late,” Commentary, Aug. 27: Although Robert E. Hunter gets to the point regarding dealing directly with Iran on nuclear weapons, he misses the root of its desire to acquire nuclear weapons: Israel.

Until we all start to come to the realization that these countries in the Middle East hate Israel, the only democracy in their midst, the sooner we will get to the root of their hatred. Nukes from Iran will not be aimed at the U.S.; they will be aimed at Israel. So who do you think will be doing a “surgical strike” on the reactors and nuclear facilities in Iran? That’s why the war on terror is all about preemption.

Wake up, American left. The terrorists call us Zionists too.
