Times Execs Get Top Hoy Jobs
Tribune Co. on Monday appointed two Los Angeles Times executives to top jobs at its Spanish-language newspaper Hoy Los Angeles.
Gisselle Acevedo-Franco, The Times’ public affairs vice president, was named president of the L.A. edition of Hoy, which was launched in March. Bob Palermini, The Times’ senior vice president and chief technology officer, was named interim chief operating officer.
In addition, Juan Arango, who was general manager and senior vice president of editorial operations for Hoy Los Angeles, was named executive editor and senior vice president of Hoy’s nationwide operations. Hoy publishes editions in New York and Chicago as well as L.A.
Hoy and another Tribune newspaper, Newsday, revealed in June that some monthly circulation figures last year were overstated. The publishers of Hoy and Newsday subsequently retired. Tribune, based in Chicago, also publishes The Times.
