Airport Plans Need a Public Consensus
Good for the Airport Land Use Commission, whose recent ruling will force Mayor James K. Hahn to get a two-thirds vote to approve his Los Angeles International Airport improvement plan (Aug. 26). I support the mayor’s plan and trust he can get the required vote. The point is that any project so controversial and so expensive should not go forward without a clear consensus of the citizens as represented by the City Council.
