A United Express flight with 46 people aboard made an emergency landing in Columbia after one of its two engines failed.

The pilot for the flight from Kansas City to Washington’s Dulles International Airport reported failure in the left engine about 10:30 a.m., said James Kinney, airport safety officer for Columbia Regional Airport. He said the Bombardier CL-65 burned off enough fuel to reach its landing weight and touched down 15 minutes later.
