Boy, 15, Dies After 400-Foot Fall in Canyon

A 15-year-old boy hiking with friends in the San Bernardino Mountains near Devore died Sunday after falling about 400 feet into a canyon, authorities said.
The boy, whose identity was not released by authorities, was hiking with two other 15-year-olds near the eastern end of Devore Road when the accident occurred, said Cindy Beavers, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Beavers said the boy died at the scene.
