Regime Showcases Its Gains Against Terrorism

Saudi authorities said they had seized nearly 24 tons of explosives in anti-terrorism raids in the last six months.

The seizures were announced on state television, accompanied by footage of alleged militants repenting, part of a recent government campaign to discourage extremism.

In the footage, eight suspected militants said they were lured into extremism by fanatics, some of whom fought in Afghanistan. Their faces blurred to hide identities, the eight spoke of edicts received via the Internet to attack the Saudi government, the monarchy and Americans.
