2 Arrested in Yucca Valley Triple Slaying; Police See Link to Drugs
San Bernardino County sheriff’s investigators on Friday announced the arrest of two suspects in a triple slaying at a Yucca Valley home this week, and said the killings appeared to be drug-related.
Jimmy Dale Kelley, 35, and Kimberly Michaud, 29, of Yucca Valley were caught Thursday in Kern County after law enforcement authorities issued an all-points-bulletin for their apprehension. They were stopped on a highway seven miles east of Mojave and arrested on suspicion of the Monday night killings, sheriff’s officials said.
Authorities also identified the third victim as Ward Phillips, 36. Also killed were Patty Jo Crevoisier and William Landers.
Investigators believe that Kelley and Michaud entered Crevoisier’s home on Joshua View Drive to steal methamphetamine, the spokesman said. All three victims were shot and two were stabbed, he said.
Parolee Mark Fitzwater was arrested shortly after the slayings but has been cleared of any involvement, investigators said.
