Blasting Respect for Law

The city of Los Angeles has neither the resources nor the will to enforce the prohibition against the use of fireworks by individuals. There are more illegal fireworks being used this year than at any time in recent memory. Our message to youngsters is simply: If you don’t like a law, ignore it. There is virtually no chance of a penalty anyway.

Shall we enforce it or should we just rescind it? I believe the law was justified in the first place, but what is happening is worse than no prohibition at all.
