Boy Fleeing Bike Thief Is Struck and Killed

A 15-year-old boy trying to get away from someone who wanted to steal his bicycle was hit and killed by a driver who fled the scene, according to police.
William Casillas was killed late Sunday in the San Ysidro neighborhood of San Diego, police said Monday.
Police said Casillas and another boy were confronted by at least one person who wanted to steal their bikes. Casillas pedaled away and his companion was robbed. Casillas pedaled into Beyer Boulevard and was hit by a Ford Mustang.
