Dirt on Conceal The Deal
In seven races on surfaces other than the Hollywood Park main track, Conceal The Deal has managed one third-place finish.
The Inglewood dirt, however, agrees with the 3-year-old Devil His Due filly. In five local starts, Conceal The Deal has three wins, a second and a third.
Owned by Flying A Farms and Jack and Gloria Kramer and trained by Herb Bacorn, Conceal The Deal will seek her fourth victory at Hollywood Park in today’s fourth race, a $50,000 claimer at six furlongs.
Conceal The Deal will compete against four fillies coming off victories. Iflookscouldkill beat maidens easily on June 18, Charlize earned her first victory on June 9, Okie Dokie Kookie won her second in a row against $20,000 claimers on June 27 and Awesome Lady went wire-to-wire against $32,000 foes on July 1.
Race of the day: Consecrate, who finished third in the San Vicente and San Rafael Stakes at Santa Anita earlier this year, will look for his first win on the turf in today’s eighth at Belmont Park.
One for the road: Congressionalhonor looks like the controlling speed in today’s fifth at the Solano County Fair. Chad Schvaneveldt will ride the 3-year-old son of Forestry for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer in the $28,000 maiden contest at one mile.
Exotically speaking: A pick all using Gassan Rock and Toofastforyou in the first, Ms Mintons Excess in the second, Bold Stock in the third, Conceal The Deal, Charlize and Awesome Lady in the fourth, Spencer’s Magic in the fifth, Tiz Bueno in the sixth, Madringa and Crowded Room in the seventh and Brite Lassie in the eighth.
