The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Nicholas H. Blodgett, 21, of Wyoming, Mich.; private first class, Army. Blodgett died Wednesday in Abdalluyah, Iraq, when his patrol vehicle hit an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment in Schweinfurt, Germany.

Michael J. Clark, 29, of Leesburg Lake, Fla.; staff sergeant, Marine Corps. Clark died Tuesday due to enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Combat Service Support Battalion 1, Combat Service Support Group 11, 1st Force Service Support Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Danny B. Daniels II, 23, of Varney, W.V.; specialist, Army. Daniels died Tuesday in Baghdad when his patrol vehicle came under attack by small-arms fire and hit an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 630th Military Police Company, 793rd Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade in Bamberg, Germany.

Torey J. Dantzler, 22, of Columbia, La.; private first class, Army. Dantzler died Thursday in Samarra, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated on the side of the road near his convoy vehicle. He was assigned to the 66th Transportation Company in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Mark E. Engel, 21, of Grand Junction, Colo.; staff sergeant, Marine Corps. Engel died Wednesday at Brook Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, of wounds he received July 6 in enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Craig S. Frank, 24, of Lincoln Park, Mich.; specialist, Army National Guard. Frank died July 17 near Baghdad when his convoy vehicle hit an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1775th Military Police Company in Pontiac, Mich.

Todd J. Godwin, 21, of Muskingum County, Ohio; corporal, Marine Corps. Godwin died Tuesday from injuries received in enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

David A. Hartman, 41, of Akron, Mich.; sergeant first class, Army Reserve. Hartman died July 17 in Bayji, Iraq, when the vehicle he was driving was hit by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 401st Transportation Company in Battle Creek, Mich.

Bryan P. Kelly, 21, of Klamath, Ore.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Kelly died July 16 from injuries received in enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Dale T. Lloyd, 22, of Watsontown, Penn.; sergeant, Army. Lloyd was one of two soldiers killed Monday in Scandaria, Iraq, when mortar rounds hit their forward operating base. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry, 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Charles C. Persing, 20, of Albany, La.; private first class, Army. Persing was one of two soldiers killed Monday in Scandaria, Iraq, when multiple mortar rounds hit their forward operating base. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry, 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.
