Noted Doctor Who Was Abducted Is Found Dead

A doctor who won Mexico’s “Woman of the Year” award was found dead a week after she had been kidnapped.
Dr. Carmen Gutierrez won the 1997 prize for her work in rehabilitative medicine.
Gutierrez’s body was found in a canal on the outskirts of Mexico City. Police officials were not immediately available to confirm the report.
